A free entry concert to support Fair Frome, featuring the Keith Harrison-Broninski Trio with special guest Pee Wee Ellis.
Fair Frome (www.fairfrome.org) is a local charity that helps to alleviate the effects of poverty for local people, offering practical support such as ensuring that everyone has access to food, furniture, white goods and kitchen equipment. Fair Frome also aspires towards greater financial, educational, social and health equality in Frome and runs projects designed to bring people together from different backgrounds and across generations to find common solutions. They run real projects which make a real difference for real people.
Royal Society of Arts Frome and Frome Jazz Club are delighted to host an evening that combines top level jazz with talks about Fair Frome’s work and that of associated projects. For this charitable occasion, jazz and funk star Pee Wee Ellis is guesting with the Keith Harrison-Broninski Trio – which for some may bring back happy memories of Pee Wee’s appearances at the legendary community event Nunney Jazz Cafe!
The aim is to raise both awareness and funds at the coldest time of year. The concert is free entry. There will be opportunities to donate during the evening if you wish, either directly or via the auction at the end of the evening. We will be asking for items to auction during the evening, which could be:
– Christmas presents you are able to pass on
– Other good quality unwanted items
– Promises of time for teaching, advice, DIY, other practical help, …
– Other opportunities you can offer, such as guided walks or visits
– Anything else that people might like!
The event is in the old school hall of Frome Community College where there is a terrific grand piano. Do dig out or think up something for the auction, and join us for what will be a fun, fascinating, and worthwhile community event.
We would like to thank the Royal Society of Arts (Frome branch) and The Cornerhouse (home of jazz in Frome) for sponsoring this event.
